ప్రాగారమ్ములు కళగా
రాగమతిశయించి ప్రేమ రాగము నింవెన్
వేగముగా ఏతెంచుము
స్వాగతమో నవ ఉగాది! శాంతవిహారీ!

ప్రకృతి కోయిల తీయగా పాడు చుండ
చిగురు మావిళ్ళు లేలేత సిగ్గునొంద
వేము కష్ట సుఖాలతో వింది చేయ
వేగ రావమ్మ నవవర్ష స్వాగతమ్ము!

మానవత్వమ్ము నశియించి దానవత్వ
మావరించెను మంచి సమాధి చెందె
శాంతి గీతాలు గుండెలో క్రాంతి నింప
కోకిలా తీయగాపాడు కొసరి కొసరి!

సమర సన్నాహ వేదిక శంఖమూద
ఆకసమ్మున బాంబులు ఆటలాడ
సకల జనుల బాధలుదీర్చ జాగులేక
వేగరావమ్మ నవవర్ష స్వాగతమ్ము!

పెళ్ళి సందడి నిండుగా వెలయునట్లు
అలర బ్రహ్మోత్సవములెల్ల అమరునట్లు
పంచభూతాల దూతవై పరుగు తోడ

ऎसा नहीं की आप याद आते नहीं

एक बार हम निकले शहर में घूमने

एक तरफ था झोपडा, एक तरफ श्मशान थे
पैर तले आई हड्डी उसके ब्यान थे
कि चलने वाले संभल कर चल

వాక్ స్వాతంత్ర్యము

రష్యా మాజి అధ్యక్షుడు బ్రెజ్నేవ్ ఒక సారి అమెరికా వెళ్ళాడు. అక్కడి పాత్రికేయులతో ఒక ప్రెస్ మీట్‍లో పాల్గొన్నాడు. ఒక పాత్రికేయుడు బ్రెజ్నేవ్‍తో, "బ్రెజ్నేవ్ గారూ! ఈ దేశములో యే పౌరుడైనా, ఎప్పుడైనా, ఎక్కడైనా మా దేశాధ్యక్షుడిని దూషించవచ్చు." అనాడు. ’మీ దేశములో ఇంతటి వాక్స్వాతంత్ర్యము లేదు సుమా!’ అని ఎత్తి చూపడము ఆ పాత్రికేయుడి ఉద్దేశ్యం.

ఆ ప్రశ్నకు సమాధానముగా బ్రెజ్నేవ్, "మీ ప్రశ్న మాకు అర్థమైంది. మీరనుకున్న విధమైన వాక్స్వాతంత్ర్యము మా దేశములో కూడా ఉంది. మా దేశములో ఎప్పుడైనా, ఎక్కడైనా, ఏ పౌరుడైనా, అమెరికా దేశాధ్యక్షుడిని నోటికి వచ్చినట్టు తిట్టవచ్చు. అందులో ఏ విధమైన ఆంక్షలు లేవు" అని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చాడు.

సమస్త భారత ప్రజానికము మార్చ్ 3 వ వారము విద్యావ్యాసంగము, పరీక్షలు, ఆర్ధికమాంద్యము, తీవ్రవాదపు సమస్య, ఎన్నికలు వంటి తీరికలేని దైనందిన జీవితపు వ్యవహారాలలో తలమునకలై యుండగా, చెరసాలలు, ఉరికొయ్యలు, పూలశయ్యలు, పూలమాలలుగా మార్చుకొని, తమ రుధిర తర్పణతో సమస్త భారతావనికి స్వాతంత్ర్య సమర స్ఫూర్తి రగల్చిన ముగ్గురు త్యాగధనుల బలిదానమును మరిచింది.

ఆ ముగ్గురు యువకిశోరాలు ఎవరో కాదు.

"ఇంక్విలాబ్ జిందాబాద్" నినాదాన్ని జాతి జీవన గీతముగా మార్చిన భగత్ సింగ్.

జనని భారతి శృంఖలాల ఛేదనకై తమ భౌతిక దేహాన్ని తుచ్ఛంగా భావించిన రాజ్ గురు మరియు సుఖ్ దేవ్ లు.

68 సంవత్సరాల క్రితము మార్చ్ 23 వ తేదినాడు ఈ భరతమాత ముద్దు బిడ్డలు పాశ్విక బ్రిటిష్ కర్కశ చట్టాల చట్రాల పదఘట్టనలో నలిగిపోబడి, ఉరికొయాలను కౌగిలించకపోయి ఉంటే, ఆ ముగ్గురు తాతయ్యలై, మనజాతికి, మన తరానికి మార్గదర్శకులై దేశభక్తి, జాతి రక్షణల పాఠాలు నేర్పేవారేమో? రాజ్ గురు, సుఖ్ దేవ్ లలో స్వేచ్ఛ, స్వాతంత్ర్య దీక్షా జ్వాలలు రగిల్చి, జాతి మొత్తానికి ఆదర్శమై నిలిచిన భగత్ సింగ్ నాటికీ, నేటికీ స్తవనీయుడు, స్మరణీయుడు.

పారతంత్ర్య ధిక్కరణ భగత్ సింగ్‍కు ఆనువంశికంగా వచ్చిన ఆస్తి. "ఆచ్చట పుట్టిన చివురు కొమ్మైన చేవ" అన్నట్టుగా ఆ వంశంలో ప్రతి ఒక్కరి రక్తంలో విప్లవకాంక్ష ప్రవహిస్తుండేది. తమ ఇంట్లో జరిగే స్వాతంత్ర్య సమరవీరుల చర్చా గోష్ఠులు, మధ్య మధ్యలో బ్రిటిష్ సైన్యంవారి అక్రమ హింసలు, తండ్రి మరియు ఇతర కుటుంబ సభ్యుల దేశ భక్తి - భగత్ సింగ్‍లో చిన్న నాటనే స్వేచ్ఛాకాంక్షకు ఊపిరిలూదాయి.

పరమ సిఖ్ ధార్మిక కుటుంబంలో పుట్టినప్పటికీ, సిఖ్ సహజ ధార్మిక వస్త్ర ధారణ ఇత్యాదులను త్యజించి, "నేనెందుకు నాస్తికుడినయ్యాను" అనే గ్రంథాన్ని రచించేలా ప్రేరేపించే వ్యక్తిత్వం అలవడ్డాయి.

సంసార చట్రంలో ఇరుక్కుంటే, జాతి కన్నీటిని తుడిచే ఒక సేవకుడు తగ్గిపోతాడన్న భావన అతడిని పెళ్ళిచేసుకోకుండా చేసాయి. పుట్టుకనుంచి ఉరికొయ్యని కౌగిలించేవరకు, ఆయన నమ్ముకున్న సామ్యవాద సిద్ధాంతం, తాను చేసే పోరాటం ప్రపంచ బడుగు బలహీన వర్గాలవారు సకల ధనిక వర్గ శక్తులతో జరిపే పోరాటంగా మార్చాలనేది అతడి తపన.

దైవంకన్నా ధ్యేయమును నమ్మిన వ్యక్తి ఎంత ధృడంగా ఉంటాడో అనడానికి భగత్ సింగ్ వ్యక్తిత్వం నిలువెత్తు దర్పణం. రాజ్ గురు, సుఖ్ దేవ్, భగత్ సింగ్‍లను ఒకరి తరువాత ఒకరిని ఉరి తీస్తామని జైలు అధికారులు తెలిపితే, "నన్ను ముందు ఉరి తీయండి" అని ప్రకటించిన భగత్ సింగ్ సాహసం స్వాతంత్ర్య సమర వీరులకు స్ఫూర్తిదాయకం.

మనిషి ఎలా చనిపోతాడు అనేదానికన్నా, మృత్యువును ఎలా ఎదురుకుంటాడు, ఏ ధ్యేయంకై మృత్యువును ఆహ్వానిస్తాడు అన్న విషయాన్ని పరిశీలిస్తే, మాతృదాస్య శృంఖలాల ఛేదనకై ఉరితాడుని ఆహ్వానించిన భగత్ సింగ్ ఔన్నత్యం భావి తరాలకు మార్గదర్శకం.

కొంత మంది బ్రిటిష్ పోలీసులను ఒక ఇంట్లో పెట్టి ఉద్యమకారులు దహించి వేసిన చౌరి-చౌరా సఘటన ఆనంతరం బాపూజీ నిరసన, నిరశనలు చేపట్టడమే కాక, ఊపందుకున్న సహాయ-నిరాకరణోద్యమము కూడా రద్దు చేయడము, పైగా అదే గాంధీజి కర్తార్ సింగ్ వంటి ఉద్యమకారుల బలిదానానికి శ్రద్ధాంజలి అయినా ఘటించకపోవడం వంటి సంఘటనల నేపధ్యములో భగత్ సింగ్ గాంధీజీని ధిక్కరించాడు. కానీ, అందరూ అనుకున్నట్టుగా గంధీజీని భగత్ సింగ్ ద్వేషించలేదు.

AMBEDKAR JAYANTHI

The 118th birth anniversary of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar was celebrated with a festive zeal on 14th of April in our Vidyalaya. Principal of the Vidyalaya garlanded the portrait of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar and a prayer song followed. In their speeches Haritha Amrutha, Raju Naik and Rajeshwar Reddy highlighted the life history of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar, his achievements and the role he played in drafting the Indian constitution. For the first time, Pranitha. G. and Sai Nikitha. A. of class 10 anchored the entire programme. The choir group of the Vidyalaya presented a song composed on Dr.B.R.Ambedkar by Sri. Bheem Sharma, Music Teacher. Sri. Roopender Singh, PGT Hindi proposed vote of thanks.

దివ్య సందేశం

భారత దేశములో ఉన్నత చదువుతున్న ప్రతి ఒక్కరు డాలర్ల వేటకై, విదేశాల గూటికి చేరాలని కలలు కంటున్నారు. అంది వచ్చిన యే చిన్న అవకాశము పక్కలైనా పట్టుకొని రెక్కలు కట్టుకొని ఎగరిపోతున్నారు. దేశాభిమానం, దేశసేవ అనే మాటలు నేటి యువత నిఘంటువులలో కనిపించని మాటలు.

కానీ, మహాత్ముతను, మహనీయులను డాలర్లు, డాబులు, పదవులు, సంపదలు ఆకర్శించలేవు.

భారత దేశమునుండి భౌతిక శాస్త్రములో తొలి నొబుల్ బహుమతి పొందిన శాస్త్రవేత్త సర్ సి.వి. రామన్ గారికి బెంగుళూరులోని Indian Institute of Science లో డైరెక్టర్ పదవి లభించింది. అదే సమయంలో అతడికి కేంబ్రిడ్జ్ యూనివర్సిటి ఆచార్య పదవిని ఇవ్వజూపింది. కానీ దానిని అతడు త్యజించాడు. అతడి మిత్రులు "ఎందుకు ఇంతటి పదవిని, సంపదను, విదేశీ గౌరవం వదులుకున్నావు?" అని ప్రశ్నించారు.

"ఈ మాతృ భూమిలో పుట్టి, ఇక్కడి గాలి పీల్చి, ఇక్కడి నీరు త్రాగి, ఇక్కడి వసతి సౌకర్యాలతో ఇంత స్థాయికి వచ్చాను. ఇప్పుడు నాకు తిరిగి యీ దేశానికి సేవ చేసే భాగ్యం కలిగింది. ఈ అవకాశం వదులుకోను. నేను భారతీయుడిని. భారత్ దేశానికి సేవ చేస్తాను." అని సమాధానమిచ్చాడు.

ఇది నేటి యువతకు నాటి మహనీయుడు ఇచ్చిన దివ్య సందేశం.

Today before you think of saying an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion.
Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before you complain about your children - Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.
Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn't clean or sweep -Think of the people who are living in the streets.
Before whining about the distance you drive - Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job.
But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another - Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.Life is a gift, Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And fulfill it.

Why do we wear marks on the forehead ?

The tilak, pottu or bottu invokes a feeling of sanctity in the wearer and others. It is recognized as a religious mark. Its form and colour vary according to one’s caste, religious sect or the form of the Lord worshipped.

In earlier times, the four castes (based on varna or colour) - Brahmana, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Sudra - applied marks differently. The brahmin applied a white chandan mark signifying purity, as his profession was of a priestly or academic nature. The kshatriya applied a red kumkum mark signifying valour as he belonged to warrior races. The vaishya wore a yellow kesar or turmeric mark signifying prosperity as he was a businessman or trader devoted to creation of wealth. The sudra applied a black bhasma, kasturi or charcoal mark signifying service as he supported the work of the other three divisions. Also Vishnu worshippers apply a chandan tilak of the shape of "U", Shiva worshippers a tripundra of bhasma, Devi worshippers a red dot of kumkum and so on).

The tilak cover the spot between the eyebrows, which is the seat of memory and thinking. It is known as the Aajna Chakra in the language of Yoga. The tilak is applied with the prayer - "May I remember the Lord. May this pious feeling pervade all my activities. May I be righteous in my deeds." Even when we temporarily forget this prayerful attitude the mark on another reminds us of our resolve. The tilak is thus a blessing of the Lord and a protection against wrong tendencies and forces.

The entire body emanates energy in the form of electromagnetic waves - the forehead and the subtle spot between the eyebrows especially so. That is why worry generates heat and causes a headache. The tilak and pottu cools the forehead, protects us and prevents energy loss. Sometimes the entire forehead is covered with chandan or bhasma. Using plastic reusable "stick bindis" is not very beneficial, even though it serves the purpose of decoration.

Pillalamarri

The most important place of interest near Mahabubnagar is the famous banyan tree called Pillalamarri, which is about 8-km from the city. The famous 500 yr. old Banyan tree here, covering an area of over three acres, can accommodate about 1000 people in its shade. There is a shrine of a Muslim saint under the tree. From a distance the tree presents the appearance of a small hillock with green foliage but on reaching nearer, it looks like a large green umbrella under which about thousand people can easily take shelter. The tree is a very old one and it covers an area of 3 acres (1.21 hectares).

ALUMNI CONDUCT MEDICAL CAMP

A Medical Camp was organized in the Vidyalaya on April 11 & 12 by the Alumni [Old Students]. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Bhaskar Naik, PHC Bijnepally and Dr. Rajesh Goud and Dr. Shirirsha, the team leaders briefed about the importance of health and hygiene in everyone’s life. The screening camp included the check-ups like, eye, skin, blood-grouping, urine, gyenecology and general health. The Alumni also supplied the basic medicines to all the students. The students were also made aware of the precautions they should take in keeping themselves healthy. The students who needed extra medical attention were asked to meet the alumni doctors during summer vacation and get their ailment treated.

During the evening hours, the alumni students pursuing different careers conducted Career Guidance classes. They gave special advice to the students appearing for the Board Examination and suggested them to take the stream which they like and not the one which their parents decide. They also enlightened the students about the different careers and professions available globally and how one should prepare to grab them.

The other partcipants in the camp included B. Radhika, R. Radhika, A. Sathish, Vinod, Suresh Babu, Uday Kumar [All First Batch Students], Vijender, Praveena, H. Naresh, P. Raju [All Second Batch Students] Police Kiran [ Third Batch], Hanmanthu [Fourth Batch], Rameshwar Reddy, Subhash Chandra Bose, Arun Kumar, [Fifth Batch], Shravanthi, [Sixth Batch], B. Manjula [Seventh Batch] and Sai Kiran [Nineth Batch].

Along with the alumni doctors, Mr. Hari Prasad Reddy, President, Ms. Srivani, Organising Secretary, Mr. V. Narender, Secretary of the Alumni Association were also present and guided the participants in conducting both the camps successfully.

FAREWELL……FRIENDS!

The farewell party for the outgoing 12th class students and the migrated students [from JNV Sri Ganga Nagar, Rajastan] was organized on March 24. This day, to many students, can be the saddest day in their lives and to some this day marks the beginning of the new life. Many students turn nostalgic and start rewinding the fun they had in their school days. Mast. P. Kamalakar Reddy and Mast. Vishnu shared their experience in this Vidyalaya and advised their juniors to make best use of the facilities available and grow up as a responsible citizen.

Mast. Jai Prakash Suthar, most dynamic of the migrated students, reminiscented about his stay in the Vidyalaya and how much has his life undergone a change coming over here. He felt he was indebted and wouldn’t miss any opportunity to render his service to the Vidyalaya.

Ms. Prasanna Laxmi, Maya and Deepika rendered heart touching songs, mostly indicative of the inevitable separation. On behalf of the Vidyalaya, the Principal wished all the outgoing students a happy and prosperous life ahead.

Toppers of the Toppers

The Annual Examinations held in the month of March 2009 heralded the end of the Academic Year 2008-09 and brought out along with them the overall academic performance of the students during the year. Despite the clashes in the local examination schedule with that of the CBSE exams, the Examination Department was thoroughly prepared and conducted the exams in a befitting manner.

As always, the performance of the lower class students was praiseworthy and the students of the higher classes did not lag behind. The entire February month was utilized for revision and practice of the mock tests. As the exams commenced the students’ confidence doubled and their performance bettered.

Each student was evaluated for 600 marks in each subject [6 Unit Tests, 6 Assignments, 2 Project Works/Orals and 2 Term Exams] and the overall total mark was 3600. Based on the overall performance in all the subjects throughout the year, the following students were adjudged as the “The Toppers of the toppers.”

Hemachander. Ch of class 6 A, with 3487 marks and with 96.9 percentage is the First among the toppers of the toppers. In the second position is Kalpana. K of 6 B with 3428 marks and 95.5 percent. Ranjitha. K. of class 7 B is the third topper of the topper with 3414 marks and 94.8 percentage.

It is interesting to note that these students were the Vidyalaya toppers in almost all the Unit Tests and Term Tests. The Vidyalaya fraternity congratulates all these Toppers of the Toppers.

Fools' Day

1 st April every year is observed as Fools’ Day almost all over the world.
There is an interesting story narrating how April 1 st came to be celebrated as Fools’ Day. According to the story, before 1564, a common calendar was used throughout Europe. As per the calendar, 1st of April marked the beginning of each year. After some time, a new reformed calendar was adopted to obey the order of Charles IX, the then King of France. According to the new calendar, 1st January marked the beginning of each year. Some people who were reluctant to accept this change were laughed at by the others. The others considered them fools and troubled them with jokes, mock gifts, fake events and silly tricks. Since then, the practice came to be in vogue. On Fools’ Day, friends try to fool one another by way of practical jokes, like sending foolish messages and doing silly things to one another.
This day enables people to laugh and enjoy to their heart’s content. It includes practices such as sending someone on a “fool’s errand”, looking for things that don’t exist, playing pranks and trying to get people to believe ridiculous things.
