The secret of the dictum ‘success follows success’ is the combination of knowledge and effort. Ideas rule the world and knowledge is power. To achieve results even the most brilliant ideas should be translated in to action by systematic, sustained and dedicated effort. Without effort, our ideas will gather dust, get rusted and go to waste. Success is not merely a question of luck or genius. It mostly depends on hard work and the ability to persist, despite odds, temporary setbacks and adverse circumstances. The kites fly against the wind and not with the wind. The success stories of M. Srinivas and P. Kumar who bagged seats in IIT Madras illustrate that they used intelligence and industry in equal measure to achieve their coveted goals.
M. Srinivas and P. Kumar have done this Vidyalaya proud by getting selected to Indian Institute of Technology [IIT] Madras [in the picture below], a pioneer institute in the country. While M. Srinivas is a 2003-04 batch alumnus, P. Kumar joined this Vidyalaya in class 9 under lateral entry selections. M. Srinivas, for that matter, comes from a humble background and hails from Lattupalli, a tribal hamlet in Mahabub Nagar Dist where his parents struggle as agricultural labours to meet the daily needs. Being academically poor in the lower classes, Srinivas started to realize his strength and his responsibility towards his family. He passed out class 10 with 83.6% of marks to join Sri Chaitanya Junior College, Ameenpur where he secured 444 and 442 out of 470 marks in the first year and second year Intermediate respectively. As a result, he secured 66th Rank under S.T. category in the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination [IIT-JEE] – 2010 and ensures his seat in Electrical Engineering in IIT Madras.
P. Kumar joined class 9th of this Vidyalaya during 2006-07 on lateral entry basis. Branded an average student, Kumar never revealed what was in store for all of us to rejoice. With 73% of marks he joined Narayana Junior College, Bod Uppal for his Intermediate studies and came out with flying colours. At IIT-JEE he secured 272th rank under S.T. category and he would be pursuing Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras.
JNV Mahaboob Nagar extends a standing ovation to these two prodigies and wish many more students get inspired by them on their paths to glory.
Migration scheme is a unique scheme introduced by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti in order to weave the vivid cultures across the country. The scheme has in it a mesmerizing strength to break walls that separate people on the basis of caste, religion, language, culture and traditions. The policy is in force since 1988 when the first batch of Navodaya students was migrated from Hindi-speaking areas to non-Hindi speaking areas and vise versa.
With a view to strengthen this noble scheme, 22 students (14 boys & 6 girls) of class IX of this Vidyalaya were migrated to JNV Sriganga Nagar Dist, Rajasthan State and similarly, 20 students (14 boys & 6 girls) were migrated to this Vidyalaya from the counterpart Vidyalaya for a period of 1 academic year.
After the arrival of the students from JNV Sriganga Nagar, they were distributed among 4 houses and 2 sections. The students expressed their joy as the climate, study environment and the facilities available here are conducive.
The JNV Mahabub Nagar fraternity wishes these students a happy stay here.

We cannot draw a circle without a center point. The Lord is the center, source and essence of our lives. Recognizing Him as the focal point in our lives, we go about doing our daily chores. This is the significance of pradakshina.
Also every point on the circumference of a circle is equidistant from the center. This means that wherever or whoever we may be, we are equally close to the Lord. His grace flows towards us without partiality.

My dear, dear new year
You come to us every year
And bring both smile and tear
We wish all a happy new year
People long for peace and prosperity
Eager eyes long to end poverty
Inequality and injustice breed enmity
Progress and peace promote fraternity
Leaders and officials assure eradication
Of terrorism, crime and corruption
Enforce measures to control pollution
Spread awareness and education
On that eve all have recreation
Lights and crackers add to celebration
Next day the same old practice in action
All we need is a revolution
Problems swell year after year
Hike in price multiplies fear
Unwanted disease and danger so near
Yet we wish a happy new year.

With lot of pride and joy in our hearts, we would like to share with you all, our experience at 55th Athletics Meet of the School Games Federation of India [SGFI] held from 23 – 27th November at Amritsar, Punjab. We were ecstatic to be among 86 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas that took part in the Meet. There was a stiff competition among the athletes grouped under 27 teams that came from the nooks and corners of the country.
Having secured First positions in our respective events - J. Narasimha [Class XII] - Discus Throw, and S. Ramesh [Class IX] 100 mtrs and Long Jump – at the Cluster, Regional and National levels, we pulled off an opportunity to participate in the biggest school game event of the country and secured eighth and seventh positions respectively. Nevertheless, we were least disappointed for, we had put our best performance and the meet had illustrated clearly the meaning of competition.
This feat wouldn’t have been a possibility without the guidance of our Physical Education Teachers Sri. G. Surendra Reddy and Smt. Manjula Radha. We are also grateful to our Principal, Sri. Laxmi Rajam garu for his constant support and encouragement.

November 11, the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad is popularly celebrated throughout the country as the National Literacy Day. A small function was organized on the Vidyalaya campus to pay homage to Abul Kalam, the first Education Minister of Independent India. In their speeches the students threw light upon the life and achievements of Abul Kalam and the teachers enlightened about the importance of Literacy in man’s life, the place of India in the world literacy standings and the role of youth in making India an educational superpower. Abul Kalam, who was a renowned scholar, poet, freedom fighter, and a staunch Gandhian, always felt that the condition of the Indian society can not be uplifted without education. He was a strong propagator of Indian nationalism and Hindu-Muslim unity. He was a strong opponent of partition and supported a confederation of autonomous provinces with their own constitutions but common defence and economy. Partition hurt him greatly and shattered his dream of a unified nation where Hindus and Muslims can co-exist and prosper together. For his invaluable contribution to the nation, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad was posthumously awarded India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna in 1992.
Let us tread the noble path shown by Abul Kalam and spread the message of literacy everywhere.
