The 63rd Independence Day of the nation was celebrated on 15th August 2009 in the Vidyalaya playground. The premises was decorated with colour-papers and flowers. Metal Tri-colour flags bedecked every chest that was brimming with patriotism. Sri. Roopender Singh, the Incharge Principal of the Vidyalaya hoisted the National Flag and inspected the Guard of Honour during the March Past ceremony. National Anthem, Flag songs and patriotic songs were rendered by the tiny tots who are the future of this country. Ms. Harshana Yadav, Mr. Ranjitha.K., Ms. Shravani and Mas. Jagan Mohan spoke about the importance of Freedom, the history of India’s freedom struggle and the need to secure the hard-fought freedom. Sri. P.K. Bhailikar, TGT Hindi delivered an elaborated speech and recalled the noble sacrifices made by the martyrs. He also implored the students to walk in the path shown by the freedom fighters and lead this country into becoming a super power.
A colourful cultural show was organized on the occasion and the celebrations came to an end with Sri. S. Damodar Reddy, PGT Biology proposing vote of thanks.
