The concept of zero was originated in India. The concept of zero has its roots in spirituality and philosophy of Indians. Not only Indians but many others believe that the universe has been created from nothingness.
It is supposed that the ultimate achievement in spirituality is the condition of nothingness. In fact, many believe that God is supposed to be nothingness.
So the concept of nothingness was deep in the psyche of Indians. The concept of nothingness was given an expression by coining a Sanskrit word called “Shunya’.
Later on the symbol “0” was introduced.
