The 66th Independence Day of
the nation was celebrated on 15th August 2012 in the Vidyalaya
playground. The premises was decorated with colour-papers and flowers. Metal
Tri-colour flags bedecked every chest that was brimming with patriotism. Sri. Laxmi
Rajam, Principal of the Vidyalaya hoisted the National Flag and inspected the
Guard of Honour during the March Past ceremony. National Anthem, Flag songs and
patriotic songs were rendered by the tiny tots who are the future of this
country. Ms. Kalpana. K. Mas. Yashwanth, Ms. Deepika and Mas. Sumith spoke
about the importance of Freedom, the history of India’s freedom struggle and
the need to secure the hard-fought freedom. In their messages, the Principal
and the Vice Principal recalled the noble sacrifices made by the martyrs. They
also implored the students to walk in the path shown by the freedom fighters and
lead this country into becoming a super power.
A colourful cultural show was organized
on the occasion and the celebrations came to an end with Sri. C. G. Krupakar,
PGT Chemistry proposing vote of thanks.
